What is screen printing?Screen printing is a method where ink is pushed through a mesh stencil (screen) to transfer a design onto a surface, such as fabric, paper, or other materials. It’s ideal for vibrant, durable, and high-quality prints.

What types of printing services do you offer, and when should I use them?At BlackDog Ink, we offer a range of printing services tailored to different needs: Screen Printing: Best for bulk orders (30+ units), screen printing is perfect for vibrant, durable prints on textiles. It’s ideal for designs with up to a few colours and high-volume production. Direct-to-Film (DTF) Printing: Great for full-colour designs with fine details or gradients, DTF transfers can be used on a variety of materials, including dark fabrics. This method is also suitable for small orders as there’s no MOQ for standard DTF prints. Vinyl Printing: Perfect for personalised items such as names and numbers on sports jerseys or small, simple designs. Vinyl printing is also ideal for individual pieces or low-volume orders. Specialty Printing: We offer specialty techniques such as metallic inks, glow-in-the-dark prints, water-based inks, puff inks, and more for unique designs that stand out. Promotional Products and Custom Tagging: Whether it’s branded merchandise like tote bags or personalised tags for your products, we’ve got you covered.

What products can you print on?We can print on a wide variety of items, including t-shirts, hoodies, tote bags, caps, drink coolers, and more. If you have a specific item in mind, let us know, and we’ll confirm if it’s suitable for printing.

Do you have a minimum order quantity?Yes, our minimum order quantities (MOQ) depend on the service you require: Screen Printing: 30 units per design and ink colour. Vinyl or Standard DTF Transfers: No MOQ. Dye Blocker Vinyls or STF Transfers: MOQ of 20 units. Contact us to discuss your specific needs!

How is pricing determined?Print pricing is scaled based on the quantity ordered and the colour range in the design. Each order is quoted individually, so send us your project details, and we’ll provide a custom quote.

How long will it take to complete my order?Turnaround times vary based on order size, design complexity, and current workload. Typically, it takes 15 working days. Rush orders may be available depending our current workload and on the service you require. They are assessed on a case-by-case-basis and will incur an additional fee.

What type of artwork files do you need?Your artwork should be 300 dpi or higher and scaled to the correct print size. Preferred file types are .PSD, .EPS, .PDF, and .AI. For Adobe Illustrator files, convert all text to outlines on a solid or negative background. High-resolution .jpg, .png, or .tiff files may also be acceptable but could incur additional charges.

Can you help me create a design?Absolutely! Our team offers custom design services, including logo creation, branding, and illustrations. Provide a brief with your ideas, including fonts, colours, and logos, and we’ll give you a quote for the work.

What if my artwork isn’t print-ready?If your file needs preparation, we can handle it for you. Additional charges may apply, and we’ll provide a quote before starting any work.

Who owns the artwork created by BlackDog Ink?Any artwork created by BlackDog Ink belongs to us unless additional rights are purchased. Submitted artwork remains the customer’s property, and we won’t reproduce it without consent. We cannot print artwork that infringes on copyright or intellectual property unless you provide proof of ownership or permission.

Where do you source your garments?Our preferred blanks supplier is AS Colour, known for their high-quality apparel. You can view their full range here.

Can I bring my own garments?Yes, but BYO garments are subject to strict terms and conditions. We require a physical sample to assess suitability before committing to the order.

Can I choose custom colours for my design?Yes! We can match specific colours for your design. Let us know the colour codes or provide a physical sample, and we’ll do our best to match it.

What size print can I get?Our maximum achievable dimensions for screen printing is 360 x 500mm. This will fit on adults tees sized Small and up. Standard sized prints will generally fit a Youth size 8 or larger. Anything smaller will require a smaller scale screen and become a separate print run. Maximum DTF print size is 380 x 400mm.

Do you offer specialty printing techniques?Yes, we offer a range of specialty techniques, including metallic inks, glow-in-the-dark prints, water-based inks, puff inks, and more. Let us know if you’re interested in something unique!

Do you provide additional services?Yes, we offer a variety of additional services, including: Custom tagging Personalised apparel Promotional products Digital mock-ups Specialty inks If you require any of these services, just let us know!

Do you offer sample printing?Due to the time taken to provide printed samples we do not offer physical screen printed samples for clients. We will provide you a free, realistic digital proof with your quotation for approval. As an alternative we could do a one off garment using a digital DTF transfer which will give you a ‘sample’ item for photography and marketing purposes. Enquire for pricing.

How do I get a quote for my order?Contact us with your design, product details, and order quantity. We’ll provide a detailed quote, including pricing for any additional services.

Do you offer shipping?Yes, we ship Australia-wide. Shipping costs depend on the size and weight of your order. Local pick-up is also available.

Can you deliver directly to my customers?No, we do not currently offer drop-shipping services.

How should I care for screen-printed garments?To maintain your print’s quality, wash garments inside-out in cold water and avoid using bleach or fabric softener. Tumble drying on low heat or air drying is recommended.

Will my design fade or peel over time?Screen printing is known for its durability. With proper care, your design should last the life of the garment.
